Lars Wingefors AB (“LWAB”), through a wholly owned subsidiary, has entered into an agreement with Erik Thun AB to acquire Örebro-based Täby Air Maintenance AB (“TAM”) as well as three Saab 2000 aircraft. The transaction represents an important step in strengthening LWAB’s presence in both airline operations and aircraft leasing.
“TAM holds a strong market position at a time when both civil and military aviation are undergoing significant change. Through this acquisition we strengthen our long-term ability to develop both airline operations and aircraft leasing,” says Henrik Lindh, CFO of LWAB and incoming Chair of the Board of TAM.
The acquisition builds on LWAB’s investment in Sola Air in Karlstad, which combines regional air services with aircraft leasing. By acquiring TAM, a complete solution is created that strengthens both operations and long-term development. TAM today serves civil and defence-related customers globally and has a well-established market position. With increasing demands for sustainable aviation and a changing global security environment, the company sees strong opportunities to further expand its international presence – both through civil investments in new technology and as a provider to the defence industry.
“We are proud of the development TAM has achieved under our ownership and pleased to hand over to an owner who will continue to build on the company’s strong position,” says Henrik Källsson, Deputy CEO of Erik Thun AB.
As part of the transaction, three Saab 2000 aircraft are also being acquired. These assets strengthen and complement the existing fleet within LWAB’s aviation operations and will be offered on the leasing market. The combination of aircraft assets and high-level maintenance expertise creates a solid platform for long-term development.
